The story behind Banaspati Ishq
Ahmed Randhawa says the viral Mitti De Baway line was shot at 3am in the cold, in a single take.
"Banaspati Ishq", the phrase Wahaj Ali's Baala uses in Mitti De Baway, has become a meme for flimsy modern romance. Co-star Ahmed Randhawa, who plays Baala's brother Aslam, has now shared how the scene was made.
He said it was filmed at around 3am in bitter cold and finished in one take. At the time, the cast and crew did not think the line was special at all. Another of Baala's lines got the bigger laugh on set. Fans clearly saw it differently.
