Pakistani short The Last Glance has won the Jury Award for Best Short at the 21st Tasveer Film Festival in Seattle, held from 13 to 18 October. The win qualifies it for the longlist for the 2028 Academy Awards. Director Kamran Faiq stressed that "this is not a nomination, but we've qualified".
The film follows a family forced to flee their village at night to escape violence, and stars Adnan Shah Tipu, Areej Ayub and Fahad Hashmi. It recently won Best International Short at Canada's Mosaic festival.
