Pakistan's film industry may soon have its first royalty law. Punjab has ordered a draft to be prepared, and the proposal will go before the next meeting of the Punjab Film Authority. The authority's first meeting, held in Lahore, also approved rebates of 35% for Punjabi films and 20% for Urdu films made in Punjab.

Other plans include a Film City in Lahore due to open on 15 December, an online location service for filmmakers, restored cinemas and a training programme for young directors.
