Humsafar heads to Spain, minus royalties
HUM TV says Humsafar is being dubbed for a Spanish release, and director Sarmad Khoosat has a wry wish.
Humsafar, the 2011 HUM TV classic starring Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan, is set to reach a new audience. HUM TV posted that the drama will be dubbed and released in Spanish.
Director Sarmad Khoosat shared the news on Instagram with a pointed note: "If only there were royalties," followed by a blank-faced emoji. His comment reflects a long-running complaint in Pakistani television, where the creators of hit dramas are not paid when their work is resold or released again.
