Humayun Saeed wants a Pakistani streaming platform
The actor and producer says Pakistan needs its own OTT service before its dramas can go global.
Humayun Saeed believes Pakistani dramas deserve a world stage, but says the first step is a home-grown streaming platform. "Where there will be a platform, things will be made," he told Ali Salman on YouTube, pointing to how India's local services came before Netflix took notice.
Saeed said Pakistani drama has its own identity in writing, dialogue and Urdu, and urged the government to back the industry. He also recalled learning discipline on Netflix's The Crown, and insisted he is not a star, naming Fahad Mustafa and Fawad Khan instead.
