Critic says Mango Jutt needed a better script
Dawn Images gives Mango Jutt 3 out of 10, praising its leads but not its story.

Mango Jutt has had a rough reception from Dawn Images. Critic Sara Danial gave the Punjabi comedy 3 out of 10, opening her review with the verdict that the film "does not tell a story". She found the plot predictable, the songs randomly placed and the dubbing weak, with one key twist left unexplained.
There was praise too. Danial said Faysal Quraishi and Hareem Farooq have real chemistry and screen presence, and that the romance had promise. In her view, the film simply needed a tighter script to hold it together.
