AI enters the production conversation
Beta Builder, starring Mayur More and Ashlesha Thakur, has started filming as a live-action and generative AI hybrid.
Production has begun in Mumbai on Beta Builder, a feature that blends live-action filming with generative AI, according to Bollywood Hungama. The film is the first project from a partnership between Abundantia Entertainment and invideo, announced in February 2026 to develop five AI-driven features.
Directed by Hridaye A Nagpal, invideo's global creative lead, it stars Mayur More and Ashlesha Thakur. The story follows Jai, a self-taught architect from Dharavi who chases his ambitions in virtual reality. Nagpal describes the approach as "a live-action shoot and AI working side by side."
