Jubliz Cinema & Theatre API
A public, read-only API for country-aware venues, programmes and published screenings. Developed by Sukh Sandhu.
Open the finder · Connected countries · Feed schema · Example feed (demonstration only)
Worldwide ready. Coverage depends on connected sources.
The schema accepts ISO countries and territories, plus the GeoNames XK entry, IANA time zones and cinema, theatre and other venue types. Current listings cover connected Australian networks and London-area screenings supplied by Clusterflick. Complete worldwide or national coverage is not claimed. Films screened at a theatre do not establish coverage of that venue’s live stage programme.

The existing v1 URL is retained for compatibility; responses identify API version 2.0. Country defaults to AU. Use country=ALL to search connected countries together. Spoken language, subtitle language and metadata locale are separate concepts. Unspecified audio is never assumed to be English.

Location lookup
The location index uses all current populated-place records in the GeoNames allCountries dataset, including smaller towns and neighbourhoods, with additional Australian and UK postal locations. It is not restricted by population size. At the 1 November 2026 build, it contains 5,181,668 entries across 248 countries and territories with populated-place records. Uninhabited territories may have no city entries. Location availability does not imply cinema schedule availability.
The locations resource returns data, total, offset, limit, hasMore and nextOffset. Use limit 1–200 and follow nextOffset to browse the complete selected country/state list. Typing searches the entire index, not just the loaded page. Select a returned id using the place parameter to distinguish identically named places. IDs and country/state scope are checked before resolving coordinates. Australian and UK postal area lookup remains available. Coordinates and straight-line distances are approximate.

Session fields
startsAt is UTC. date and localTime are venue-local, with timeZone (IANA). Records include country, movieId, cinemaId, source, checkedAt, stale, format, formats, spokenLanguages, subtitleLanguages, accessibility, available and bookingUrl. Unknown availability may be null; confirm with the seller. Metadata identifies the published window, stale sources, country coverage and attribution.
United Cinemas
United film facts and advertised sessions are imported from its public anonymous website journey. Its short-lived anonymous read token is acquired during each refresh and kept only in memory. No customer login, order, seat reservation or payment call is made. Booking links lead to United’s official ticket page. Current imports include its nine Australian venues.
India, New Zealand and United States
India imports public Miraj film editions and advertised sessions. New Zealand imports HOYTS and Event listings. United States imports Showcase listings. These are chain-specific, partial national listings; other operators and cities may not be covered. Missing venue coordinates remain unknown, with city matching used where available. Classifications, language editions and detail links use the selected market.
Additional European listings
Cinema City public listings cover its cinemas in Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Slovakia. Rav Hen supplies its Israeli cinemas. Forum Cinemas supplies Latvia and Lithuania. TGV supplies Malaysia. Nu Metro supplies South Africa, and Ster-Kinekor supplies its cinemas in South Africa, Namibia and Zambia. Imagine Cinemas supplies its Ontario cinemas in Canada. National coverage remains partial. Screening language and subtitles come from the operator’s explicit session metadata. Published cinema coordinates are retained; unknown coordinates are never substituted with city-centre pins.
Further international schedules
Cineplexx supplies its cinemas in Austria, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Romania and Italy. SM Cinema supplies Philippine screenings. Caribbean Cinemas and Cinestar supply listings in Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Barbados, Guatemala, Guyana, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Panama, Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago and the US Virgin Islands. These are operator-specific listings; coverage is partial.
Session audio and subtitles are matched only from explicit metadata. Original film language is retained separately when a screening’s actual audio is unknown. Reader-facing movie language summaries reflect the matching sessions.
Further connected operators
CineStar Germany, Vue Netherlands, Sambíó Iceland, BioRex Finland, Major Cineplex Thailand, Cinema XXI Indonesia, Scope Cinemas Sri Lanka, Cinesystem Brazil and Cinemex Mexico supply operator-specific listings. Major currently supplies the programme advertised for the current day. Country coverage and announced future dates remain partial.
More countries and performances
Omniplex supplies Ireland, NOS supplies Portugal, Reel supplies selected venues in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Novo supplies Qatar, QFX supplies Nepal, Nueplex supplies Pakistan, Movie supplies Uruguay, and Royal Films supplies Colombia and Panama. Movie also publishes theatre, comedy, talks and magic performances. Use eventType independently of venueType: a cinema auditorium can also host a live performance.
eventType accepts movie, theatre, comedy, music, concert, conference, magic, show or other. Calendar rows retain movies as the total number of unique programmes and add films and shows. meta.eventCounts uses the same distinct-programme counts before pagination. Programme type also scopes language and other facets.
Limited observed official programmes from VOX, Nova Costa Rica, Multicine Bolivia and Palace Jamaica retain their original capture time. Their provider records explicitly set autoRefresh=false and refreshMode=browser-snapshot. Captured performances expire normally; copying a snapshot never renews its checkedAt. Unobserved venues link to their official sites. These sources provide partial listings, not continuous live feeds.
A region validates the selected city. A radius search around that city can include nearby venues across an adjacent state or region boundary within the selected country. Region-only searches remain strictly scoped.
Indexed catalogue
Queries use a read-only indexed SQLite snapshot. Country and screening date are selected before session records are read; broad calendar, session and movie searches use SQL aggregation and pagination. Public filter, local-time, classification and unknown-language behaviour is retained.
Connect more countries and live theatres
Jubliz owns the normalisation and search API. Authorised operator and event feeds can be validated and imported using the published schema. MovieGlu, International Showtimes and Ticketmaster require separate data access and an adapter to this schema; they are not implicitly connected. Credentials remain server-side. Imports are owner-side only, with country, timezone, reference and duplicate checks.
Prepare authorised JSON, validate using the owner importer, import it, then refresh the combined catalogue. Do not import the demonstration feed as real listings. Prices, seats, checkout, transactions and account functions require a provider integration. This API links to the official seller.
Freshness and attribution
Sources refresh regularly and responses are briefly cached. Last known listings may be retained with delayed-refresh status. Only future sessions are returned. GET, HEAD and OPTIONS are supported; mutations return 405. Invalid filters return JSON errors. No public upload endpoint exists. An empty result is not proof no events exist.
Australian listings link to official cinema websites. Screening data from Clusterflick (CC BY 4.0); normalised and filtered by Jubliz. Third-party TMDB material is excluded from this import. Preserve attribution when redistributing listings or calendars.
Finder favourites, watchlists and saved searches stay on the user’s browser. Calendar reminders are managed by the calendar app into which the user imports the file.
