Why Jithu Madhavan's Mohanlal film stalled
The Aavesham director says the project's long shoot did not fit Mohanlal's busy schedule.
Jithu Madhavan has explained why his proposed film with Mohanlal was dropped. In an interview with Galatta Plus, reported by Cinema Express, the Romancham and Aavesham director said the script needed too many shooting days, including action sequences, and could not be trimmed, while Mohanlal has a busy schedule.
He also said he could not simply rewrite a screenplay conceived for Mohanlal for another actor. The film, first reported in December 2024 with Sree Gokulam Movies attached, was missing from Mohanlal's recent list of upcoming directors. Jithu's Tamil debut, Scene, starring Suriya, is set for release in India on 6 November.
