Mari Selvaraj backs another filmmaker
While shooting Manjanathi, Mari Selvaraj is also backing Maakali, the Ameer-led debut of his former assistant SB Aravinth.
Alongside directing Manjanathi, which has just wrapped its first schedule, Mari Selvaraj is backing Maakali, starring Ameer and directed by his former assistant director SB Aravinth, who makes his directorial debut with it.
It is a different kind of career expansion, moving from shaping his own films to supporting another director's vision. Selvaraj already co-produces Manjanathi with his wife Divya under their Navvi Studios banner. The mentor connection gives this developing project an immediate point of interest, though further details of Maakali have yet to be shared.
