Actor-composer Laya Kokila's directorial debut Thaytha mixes romance, comedy and thriller elements with its horror.
Laya Kokila's directorial debut Thaytha was slated to open in Karnataka cinemas on 30 October, mixing romance, comedy and suspense with its horror elements. "It isn't an out-and-out horror film, but a love story at its core, packed with comedy and thriller elements," the actor-composer said at the trailer launch.
Newcomer Riyan and Harshika Poonacha lead the cast, with Sadhu Kokila also appearing. Laya Kokila handles the screenplay, dialogue and music as well as direction. His description suggests audiences should expect changes of mood rather than a film devoted entirely to frightening them from beginning to end.
