Karthik Subbaraj revisits Game Changer
The story writer says his original idea was a realistic Madurai-set political drama with local gangsters.

Karthik Subbaraj has shed light on how Game Changer began, according to NTV English. The filmmaker, credited with the story of the Ram Charan film directed by Shankar, said his original idea was a realistic political story with action and local gangsters, set in Madurai.
At its centre was an IAS officer who wants to clean up politics from within. Reports of the interview say Subbaraj supplied the story outline, while Shankar handled the screenplay, and that the scale grew once a major star and budget came on board.
