Producer Samruddhi V Manjunath said the team was not worried about big releases from Chennai or Hyderabad, but that opening on 1,300 screens would take theatres away from a Kannada film made by newcomers.
Ganesh supported the decision, saying he agreed right away. In an industry where release dates often become territorial battles, a bigger film publicly making space for a newcomer-led production is a particularly interesting development.
