Dastaar turns an immigrant's grief into resistance
Amar Hundal's Dastaar, about a Sikh immigrant in 1980s Britain, arrived on Chaupal in October.

Dastaar follows a Sikh immigrant in 1980s Britain whose life is shattered by a racist attack. Amar Hundal directs the story of Harnek's transformation into a community leader, with Tarsem Jassar in the lead.
Released in cinemas in July and now appearing in streaming catalogues, with a Chaupal digital release on 17 October, the film places faith, identity and resistance at the centre of a Punjabi story set overseas.
