Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann has chosen Isla Johnston to lead his Joan of Arc film, working under the title Jehanne d'Arc. The project is scheduled for 2028. Luhrmann told Vogue, "I feel blessed that we found her."
His auditions even mixed George Bernard Shaw's classic Saint Joan with a monologue from Fleabag, which offers a delicious clue about how unconventionally he might approach this historical heroine.
