Karan Mehra questions television's long-hours bargain
Karan Mehra says TV pay and creative satisfaction no longer match 12-hour days and 25 shooting days a month.

Karan Mehra has also spoken bluntly about television economics. He says the payment and creative satisfaction no longer match schedules involving 12-hour days and almost 25 shooting days a month. Coming from a former daily-soap leading man, it is a pointed assessment of what the medium asks of actors.
"To be honest, the budgets in TV are not what they used to be," he said. Now in his 25th year as an actor, Karan says he has moved to OTT and films, where he gets more preparation time and better budgets, though he would return to television for something exciting.
