Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan sends its village back to school
Amandeep Sidhu says Sneha's night-school storyline echoes her own parents' insistence on education.
Sneha's latest mission in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan goes beyond household battles. She encourages villagers to complete their education and helps establish a night school, with her husband Siddhu, played by Sheizaan Khan, deciding to resume his own studies. Amandeep Sidhu says the storyline resonates with her own upbringing, where her parents remained particular about her and her brother's education even as her acting career developed.
"Education is the foundation of an empowered society," she says. A storm is brewing on screen too: Siddhu has yet to discover that Sneha's pregnancy was a pretence she kept up to help his sister.
