Abhijeet Sawant describes the pressure after winning
The first Indian Idol winner recalls the criticism and taunts that followed his victory, and the pressure to achieve big things.
Returning to the Indian Idol stage prompted Abhijeet Sawant to discuss the criticism that followed his first-season victory. He recalled people's taunts, pressure to achieve bigger things and questions about whether reality-show success would last. He said he still faces that criticism because he represents the platform.
Coming back felt "like coming back home," he told Times of India TV. His account is a reminder that winning the trophy can begin another demanding contest altogether.
