Xbox's latest numbers make sober reading
Microsoft's quarterly results show Xbox content and services revenue down 2%, with hardware reportedly down 14%.

Microsoft's first-quarter results for fiscal 2027 show Xbox content and services revenue down 2% year on year, or 1% in constant currency. Earnings coverage from Shacknews adds that Xbox hardware revenue fell 14% over the same period.
Those figures describe different parts of the business, but together they underline the pressure on Xbox. The hardware decline follows Microsoft raising console prices again in August, according to Shacknews. The challenge now is turning an expanding platform strategy, spanning consoles, PC and cloud, into sustained growth.
