Xbox also wants occasional cloud players
Microsoft will sell cloud playtime hours for owned games without requiring a Game Pass subscription.

Alongside its Game Pass changes, Microsoft plans to sell cloud playtime hours to players without a subscription, according to Xbox Wire. Players will be able to stream eligible games they already own on supported devices.
Xbox One owners will also be able to stream eligible Xbox Series X|S games through the cloud without upgrading their hardware. It could suit occasional players, although Microsoft has promised more details on pricing, eligible games and market availability in November. Those details will decide how attractive the option really becomes.
