Phantom Blade Zero makes boss loot matter
S-Game explains how weapons won from bosses change both combat and exploration in Phantom Blade Zero.

A new developer breakdown from S-Game explains how Phantom Blade Zero's boss weapons shape both fighting and exploration, according to the PlayStation Blog. Most weapons come from defeating bosses, each with its own fighting style, combos and status effects such as bleed damage or life siphoning.
Special Phantom Edge weapons also open previously blocked paths, letting players smash through barriers or grapple to distant spots, which encourages backtracking. That gives difficult encounters an extra incentive: the weapon on the other side might reshape your approach. The game was due on PS5 on 29 October.
