Minecraft gets a brighter Switch 2 home
Minecraft is out on Switch 2 with Vibrant Visuals, and digital Switch owners can upgrade free in most regions until January.
Minecraft is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, according to Mojang, with Vibrant Visuals bringing directional lighting, volumetric fog and dynamic shadows. The edition also includes the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack, updated for the new visuals.
Owners of a digital Switch copy can upgrade to the digital Standard Edition for Switch 2 free in all territories except Japan, Taiwan and Thailand, between 27 October 2026 and 31 January 2027. Existing Switch worlds can carry over, although Vibrant Visuals is not available in some modes, including split-screen.
