League of Legends Worlds reaches crunch time
The Worlds Swiss stage wraps up in Texas on 31 October, with three wins needed to reach the knockouts.
The League of Legends World Championship Swiss stage runs from 23 to 31 October in Allen, Texas, according to Riot's official Worlds primer. Teams play up to five rounds: three wins secure a place in the knockout stage, while three losses end a campaign.
Teams cannot face the same opponent twice during the stage, and same-region matchups are kept apart in round one. With the knockout bracket approaching, there is precious little room left for a poor draft, a shaky performance or an expensive mistake. The knockout stage is split between Allen and Brooklyn, New York.
